Ellie and Meg, both A-level alumni, were awarded MBEs, while Zoe, a former Level 3 Sports Diploma and BSc Sport and Exercise Sciences student, was awarded an OBE.
The trio have each enjoyed remarkable journeys in elite sport, contributing significantly to the success and profile of women’s sport in the UK and on the world stage. In 2025, they played a key role in the Red Roses’ victory in the Women’s Rugby World Cup, and Ellie Kildunne finished as runner up in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Their recognition acknowledges not only their achievements in competition, but also their commitment to leadership, advocacy and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
Laura Chambers, Head of A-levels at Hartpury College said: “We are incredibly proud of Ellie, Meg and Zoe and the impact they have had both within their sports and beyond. To see three former Hartpury students recognised in the New Year Honours is a tremendous achievement and a testament to their dedication, professionalism and character. They are wonderful role models for our current learners and show what is possible when talent is matched with opportunity.”
Hartpury has a long-standing reputation for producing high-performing graduates across a range of sports, supported by expert teaching, world-class facilities and strong industry connections. The recognition of Ellie, Meg and Zoe further highlights the success of Hartpury’s performance pathways and sports academies.
