We continue to commemorate Hartpury’s 75th anniversary with a series of events and gatherings. The ongoing festivities serve as a testament to the enduring impact of Hartpury's achievements over the years by bringing together current students, alumni and staff cultivating a sense of shared history, nostalgia, and camaraderie that reinforces the significance of Hartpury's legacy.
One of the highlights of the celebrations was a delightful gathering at the renowned Badminton Horse Trials, where over 130 attendees raised a glass of fizz, reminiscing about their time at Hartpury while enjoying the thrilling equestrian displays.
In another memorable event, just under 300 individuals attended the Gloucester-Hartpury v Exeter match. The visitors were treated to a variety of delightful activities, including a campus tour, BBQ, live music, and even an exciting tractor ride led by the legendary Trevor Hicks. It was a day filled with laughter, shared memories, and an opportunity to see how Hartpury has continued to evolve over the years.
The celebrations continued at the Open Farm Sunday event, where Hartpury opened its doors to the public, including its cherished alumni. The VIP area welcomed familiar faces, providing a chance to reconnect with old friends and explore the treasure trove of archives on display; attendees also brought along fascinating photographs, contributing to the collective narrative of Hartpury's past.
The Three Counties Show provided yet another platform for Hartpury to connect with its extensive network. The event witnessed an impressive turnout and the goody bags distributed to attendees were a big hit, serving as tokens of appreciation and reminders of the enduring Hartpury spirit.
Looking ahead, Hartpury is excitedly preparing for the upcoming Hartpury Horse Trials event on August 12th. Alumni are encouraged to join us in the VIP area to experience another unforgettable day of equestrian excellence, camaraderie, and celebration. As always, family and friends are most welcome to join us, just let us know when you book your ticket.
As the anniversary celebrations draw to a close, Hartpury eagerly anticipates two significant reunions in the months to come. In September, fellow alumni will gather for a special 60th anniversary reunion lunch, commemorating Hartpury's six decades of educational excellence. Additionally, a joint 20-year reunion is being organised for Hartpury's esteemed Netball Academy and BTEC Sport alumni. These reunions will provide an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, share stories, and reflect on their time at Hartpury – do get in touch at alumni@hartpury.ac.uk if you would like to arrange a reunion for your cohort.
Hartpury's 75th anniversary celebrations have been a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who attended. The events have not only highlighted the incredible growth and achievements of Hartpury over the years but also reinforced the strong bonds formed within the Hartpury community. The shared experiences and cherished memories created during these celebrations will continue to strengthen the institution's legacy and inspire future generations of Hartpury students and alumni.
